Banes Carers’ Centre
Bath and North East Somerset Carers’ Centre provides trusted information, advice and support to unpaid carers of all ages enabling them to maintain or improve their health and wellbeing as well as take control of their caring role and stay connected with others. In addition, Banes Carers’ Centre works with the local community to improve recognition and support for unpaid carers.
Our vision is community where carers of today and tomorrow are fully recognised, valued and supported and have what they need to stay well, in control and feel connected. We focus on keeping carers well, keeping carers connected, keeping carers in control, creating a carer-friendly community, and being there for carers. Here are a few of the services we provide to carers.
- The Banes Carers’ Centre Support Line, open weekdays, provides free information and advice to help carers unpick what can be a confusing journey through health, social care and welfare system.
- Caring can be lonely. Our pop-up and virtual Carer Cafés help carers to stay connected and share experiences with others who understand.
- Caring can be relentless. Carers often feel they have no time to stop or take care of themselves. Our small group and virtual wellbeing programme gives carers the space to breathe, recharge and stay well.
- We offer services for young carers aged 5 to 17. We can provide a needs assessment, peer support groups and fun days out. We also offer support for 18 – 25 year olds to help transition into adult services.
We have over 20 years’ experience of supporting carers and are leading the way for a carer-friendly community. We will strive to be sustainable for the long-term so we are here for the next generation of carers. All our services are free, and we will make sure you get the right help, advice and support to make caring a little easier.
If you look after someone, Banes Carers’ Centre is here for you.
