‘Let’s End Ageism’ with Ashton Applewhite.

In this TED Talk, Ashton Applewhite proposes that ageism is what makes ageing difficult and not the passing of time. Applewhite argues that we must stop segregating ages in the same way we are trying to stop segregating sex or sexual orientation. We are not too ‘old’ to do things and although ageing inevitable we believe in ageing well. At Guild Living, we want to change the way we live in later life.

It is time to think about our health-span and not life-span and redefine retirement. “Ageing is not a problem to be fixed or a disease to be cured,” Ashton Applewhite says. “It is a natural, powerful, lifelong process that unites us all.”
